Put sealer on by a dipping a Q-tip in the tube and spreading it on the sealing surface, you should be able to see aluminum through the sealant layer, thin is better. Squish out can be death to an engine. Nothing says amateur like orange sausages around engine gaskets.

Yamaha bond, three bond, moto seal are designed to be used on engine cases. It holds up to fuel way better. It is made thin and stringing for a reason. There will be to much clearance between the engine cases and crank bearings using rtv. The engine cases need a thin sealer so they stay with in spec.

emerybrian. Only issue I had with it was guy who rebuilt my bike before I bought it didn't clean the Yamabond from where the two case halves come together. There was a small bulge of Yamabond so the base of the cylinder didn't sit completely flush, causing a base gasket failure. Razor blade to remove excess yamabond and new gasket fixed it.

No the only stuff I can find is 3 bond. I must have called like 12 shops today 3 of them being yamaha dealers in different citys like 20 min to 30 mins away from me and they all had the same shit 3 bond. If I cant find anything by saturday looks like I will be letting you fellas know how the 3 bond holds up.

We used to use Yamabond. On Seadoo rotary engines, the case sealant fails around the oil filled rotary valve chamber. Then the motors slowly fill with oil when sitting. We were told that 1211 would resist "breakdown" caused by some of the additives in todays oil. Anyhow, that is when we made the switch over to 1211.
Permitex Moto Seal is equivilant to yamabond 4 or hondabond 4. You want the 4 because it doesnt dry. It is easy to clean off.
